It is with heavy hearts that we, the Stevenson family, announce the passing of Dr. Janice Stevenson, fondly known to so many as Grandma Doc and Janice.

At this time, our family is navigating the grief of her passing while beginning the difficult work of determining what is needed to honor, preserve, and celebrate her life and legacy.

We understand that there is a great deal that many of you would like to know, share, or do to support our family and honor Dr. Stevenson. We are incredibly grateful for that love. Right now, we simply ask for a little time and patience as we gather ourselves, make arrangements, and determine our next steps. We will share more information with you all when we are ready and able to do so.

For the time being, if you have an administrative question or an urgent matter concerning Dr. Stevenson’s work, responsibilities, or ongoing commitments, please email Jade, Dr. Stevenson’s eldest granddaughter. Our family is working collectively to address everything that needs immediate attention while also giving ourselves the space to grieve.

We hope to share additional information sooner rather than later, including ways to honor and celebrate Dr. Stevenson’s life and legacy. Until then, we ask for your grace as we process what it means to navigate life without the light that was Dr. Janice Stevenson.

You are welcome to email or text Jade personally during this time. Phone calls are a little more difficult for her at the moment, so written communication is greatly appreciated. We will do our best to respond as time, energy, and capacity allow.

Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and your care for our family. Most importantly, thank you for being such an important part of Dr. Stevenson’s life and for being part of the community that made her world so wonderful.
